Blessings friends. I know it has been a while and we have some catching up to do! I wanted to first say thank you to all of my new subscribers and those who are still stopping by to read my previous blogs. As some of you know, I lost my mom a few months back and I have been taking that time to heal as my mommy was my best friend and greatest supporter. I believe that she is still with me in spirit and cheering me on from heaven. At some point this year, I will speak about loss and restoration. Until then, I wanted to share a brief word (in my video posted per below) that God shared with me as I step out on faith to do some of the things The Lord placed on my heart.

It was such an honor and a blessing to grace the cover of South Africa’s Woman of Faith Magazine June 2022. I share my story of making it as an NFL cheerleader (now alumni) after several years of auditions! I also honor my mom as she was a big part of my journey and path to success and she still is today. Remember you are already approved to do the very thing God has called you to.

A Prayer for Our Earth

Let’s go back to 1440 BC to the book of Genesis written by Moses. We witness God calling the earth into existence by His very command, “Let there be”. As I read through Genesis 1-2 (Old Testament) I see the power of God and am reminded of Who created it all. I am also reminded of the Bible verse in The Gospel of Luke 10:19 (New Testament) “Listen carefully: I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over the power of the enemy; and nothing will harm you.” As we witness many events to take place all over the earth, I hear God saying: “tell my people this is still My Earth”. It belongs to God. As believers, we are aware of the times, but it does not mean sit back. God is calling His children (believers) to pray. In Him we have the authority and as Esther saved her nation, I embrace that same spirit to do my part in prayer. I invite my fellow brothers and sisters to not just sit back, but to pray for the Earth as God called us stewards over it.

Let us pray:

Hallelujah to the Most High God YHWH in the mighty name of Yeshua Hamashiach – Jesus Christ The Messiah. Father, we thank you that You created Heaven and Earth. We thank you for Your very breath that You breathe into our lungs. We thank you for Your faithfulness, Your grace and mercy. We thank you that through Your son Jesus Christ our sins are forgiven through repentance (turn away and do no more). We praise You for Your goodness, faithfulness, divine protection, healing, provision and blessing on our lives. We thank you that Your love never fails. In the name of Jesus, I cover your people today: their families, households, neighborhoods, city, state and their country. In the authority of the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I cancel the plans of the enemy against Your people. I declare and decree now the blood of Jesus over us now. I speak your covering and divine protection over us now (families of God all over the Earth). I pray for the climate, the animals, land, the waters, our food and supplies. May we continue to have everything that we need. May we see a shift on the Earth that magnifies Your name Lord Jesus. May we – Your people continue to witness Your goodness and faithfulness all throughout the Earth. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, King of all kings and Lord of all lords. Amen. It is so.

I encourage you dear friends to read the book of Genesis, the beginning as a reminder of Who created it all.

October Blessings

Hello dear Friends! I am so joyful to have entered the month of October in this very season of life. September was a month of birthing, as we know 9 months relates to birth and comes with “birthing pains”. We know that when the baby arrives, the pain is gone and we become overwhelmed with Joy! Well that is what this month of October looks like, the blessing of Joy! The Holy Spirit continued to put the word “blessing” in my sprit and continues to confirm His word. I receive this word to it’s fullness and praise YHWH for it! God wants us to know that because we are in Him as His children we are set apart, we are blessed. There is a requirement however to live in the overflow of blessing, where it becomes a lifestyle. More to come on this topic. Stay tuned!

Psalm 23:3 “He refreshes and restores my life; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”

21 Days of Speaking the Word

Hi, Friends! I hope you are doing well while finding comfort and peace in this season. Lately, I’ve been feeling led to saturate my being in the word of God. After reading the Bible today, I received confirmation on doing so.

Friends, if we haven’t already, it is time to take the word seriously. Speak it into our soul, speak it over our home, speak it over those in our lives. It isn’t enough to only speak positive words, we need the word and the holy spirit to back it up.

I encourage you to join me over these next 21 days of speaking the word into our souls. The results of this will be:

1. A Renewed Mind (releasing the past, lies from the enemy, doubt, fear, shame, and anything contrary to what God says!) By replacing what was and what’s false with the truth, the word of God: What the creator says about us.

2. Emotional Healing (releasing past mistakes, pain, un-forgiveness, heartbreak, traumas, triggers, depression, sadness, anger and anything contrary to how God has called us to feel.) By replacing these things with the truth of the word, being forgiven and forgiving others, releasing what was and receiving beauty for ashes as God has promised us.

3. A Refreshed Soul (just as we bathe our bodies, our soul needs the same care. We can only find this type of refreshing in our Lord, our God, our Savior, our Creator, our Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

As you get started, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you on which scriptures to use during this 21-day challenge. Not only are we being refreshed in our soul, but we are growing closer to God which is the ultimate goal.

I want to provide to you an example of how you can use the word to speak into your soul:

Example: Scripture: Psalm 145:19. “He will fulfill the desire of those who fear and worship Him.”

Example on how to speak to your soul with the scripture inserting your name: “Brittany, God will fulfill your desires because you fear and worship Him.”

That felt good already! I am excited to get started and not only speak over myself, but speak over those whom God entrusted to my life.

When our 21-day challenge has been completed, I encourage you to build it into your lifestyle, at least that is my goal. I want to see the power of God continually transform my life. I want to see his blessings and miracles become a lifestyle for me and my household. As children of God, we have inherited the covenant blessing of Abraham and have access to the Aaronic blessing (Numbers 6:24-26) as well. It is up to us to know God and love His word in order to see these promises fulfilled.

Ending Prayer: Lord, Jesus. Heavenly Father, I honor you today with all that I am. You are a faithful God and a good- good Father. Lord, have your way over these 21-days. Have your way in our lives. Let us grow in your word as we speak it over our lives. Let us grow near to you and experience all that you have for us according to the covenant you made with Abraham and according to the Aaronic blessing. It is in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray! Amen.

Encouraging Books for the Various Seasons of Life

Hi Friends! Here are a few books that I recommend to get through some of the various seasons of life.

1. The Bible

The Bible covers everything we need for every Season of life. If you are new to the word of God, I recommend starting in the book of Psalms and the book of Proverbs. After you find your level of comfort, go to the very beginning (the book of Genesis) and allow God to unfold to you His plans from start to end. Both the old and new testament are important because it allows us to understand God and his plans for humanity. I always say, if we had a book of our own life, would we want someone to only read one chapter and only know us by that chapter? I see God the same way. Let’s get to know Him by reading His word and seeking His heart through prayer and worship.

My recommendations are KJV or ESV. I also love the Holy Bible app. You can download it to your phone or iPad.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bible/id282935706

2. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer

This book was inspired by the feature film “War Room.” If you have yet to see this movie, you’ve got to watch it. This film will inspire you and your prayer life. The film “War Room” and the book Fervent helped me to expand my prayer life!

3. Cling ~ Choosing a Lifestyle of Intimacy with God. by Kim Cash Tate

This book encourages you to get through the disappointments and the trying times in life. Kim Cash Tate also has a series on YouTube called “Cling” (check it out below). The series was so good and very relatable. I’m looking forward to supporting more of her work! She is truly operating in her calling.

4. The Game of Life. Releasing the Weight when God says Wait. By Dacia James Lewis.

First, I must say this book is special. I met Dacia at the Black Writers Weekend conference in Atlanta this year. She is such a sweet soul and not to mention she’s from H-town (Houston) like myself. Once I started reading “The Game of Life”I couldn’t put it down as the book was so engaging. I could relate to her stories as though I were listening to a friend. I could hear her and feel the emotion of her words. In this book you will go through her journey with her, and if you are in a season of waiting and praying this book is for you! I feel that you will get through waiting better and find a sense of calm and trust. “The Game of Life” is very authentic, transparent and full of life, real life. Most importantly, you won’t feel alone in your season of waiting any longer.

God bless you, Dacia! I’m looking forward to hearing your story continually unfold through your speaking and writing.

5. 31 Prayers for my Future Husband by Jennifer & Aarón Smith

I know the importance of prayer and what better way to prepare for marriage other than to start praying for your future spouse. I’m half way through “31 Prayers for my Future Husband” and I love it. There are daily prayers and a space for you to write your own. The prayers cover very important categories that are a must for your future spouse. Jennifer and Aaron have also written a book for husbands called “31 Prayers for my Future Wife”. I will do another post on “31 Prayers for my Future Husband” once I’ve completed it.

I hope you finds these books as encouraging and helpful as I have.

Peace is 🌱

In my earlier writings, I wrote to you about my transformation into peace. In the previous week, I learned a few things that allowed me to examine areas of my life that could expand in peace. By setting boundaries, I learned that I have more peace tending to my own garden 🪴 of life.

Here is something that I wrote for myself, but I wanted to share it with you, because we are all growing together.

Peace is:

~ saying “no”more and saying “yes” to our soul

~ quiet time

~ caring for our mind, body and soul

~ surrounding our dwelling in nature

~ forgiveness (forgive others, forgive yourself)

~ speaking gently with love

~ realizing, that the actions of others does not affect how our garden grows. Understanding that planting good seeds will yield a bountiful harvest if we focus on what is ours.

~ thinking on what is good

~ having a thankful heart

~ not taking on the issues of others, rather sending love, light, and encouragement

~ listening to music that heals and sounds that soothe our soul

~ setting boundaries (everybody doesn’t need to know everything)

~ journaling

~ believing in yourself

~ planting something beautiful and watching it grow

~ being kind to others because our soul has an overflow of goodness to pour out

~ being our own best friend first

~ tending to our garden of life and making it beautiful

~ speaking in a way that nourishes

~ wearing your favorite color, green is my color as it grounds me

~ eating slowly

~ cooking with peace and with love

~ dancing and expressing the love in our soul

~ not conforming to the world

~ building a love filled life that overflows

~ keeping weeds (toxic people, places, things) out of our garden

~ peace is me

~ peace is you

40 Days of Prayer & Worship

Shalom and Happy Sunday dear friends.

Prayer is already apart of my daily life and there are times God will call me to go deeper in the word while drawing closer to Him and now is one of those times. I welcome you to join me in prayer and worship at 6:00 am over the next 40 days. Monday, June 28 – Friday, August 6th. This is a personal call for me and I welcome you to join only if you feel led and want to take the opportunity to draw near to God. James 4:8 “draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” .

Here is what you will need daily:

– Bible – Highlighter – Pen – Worship Music – Quiet Space – Open Heart to Hear God

Why 6:00 a.m.?

– This specific time is my personal choice. This is also before I begin work and it’s the most quiet time of the day for me. There are also many spiritual reasons connected to praying at certain hours of the day. I also made a decision earlier this year to give my first fruit of time over to God and this blessed my life tremendously. This is also my personal sacrifice. Instead of hitting the snooze button or reading social media, it’s me and God.

Why 40 Day’s?

– This is also personal and it’s what I received from God to do. You will see the number 40 mentioned quite frequently in the Bible and it has various meanings. Again, only do so if you are led to.

Lastly, dear friends I will also be praying for you during this time for your peace, divine protection, increased health, a closer walk with God and your overall well-being.

Let us continue to draw near to God!

❤️ Shalom and Blessings

Story time ~ Dad and the Bible

True Story – In my teen years I went through being bullied at school for several years by one person whom now I understand the enemy used specifically to try and stop me from my destiny. In those moments, I didn’t understand why this person just would not stop, as I was her target for torment. My mother even moved me to a new school in a new district and guess what, the bully followed me to that school. There was no escaping until a specific key was given to me by my dad and that was the word of God. He showed me how to read the psalms and I began speaking that word over my life. When I read that word the enemy stopped and disappeared. I did not see that person again. Hence, it was the enemy himself working through that person. When I began speaking the word of God, the enemy fled from me in seven directions just as the word says. What the enemy didn’t know is that because of that bully I learned the powerful word of God. I became in love with the word and it is why I am who I am in God today, a prayer warrior and author for the kingdom of God.

All of this is to say thank you dad for sharing the word with me. I never knew reading the Psalm would make such a great impact on my life and for the work I am doing in the kingdom now.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭1:1-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This scripture let me know that I would be blessed and that bullying spirit would wither away. After reading this scripture daily before going to school I knew that God was taking care of things and I did not have to live in fear. The amazing thing about this situation is that the word of God put a stop to the enemies plans. I encourage anyone who has a child that is going through bullying to learn the word of God, specifically Psalm 1. Speak it over themselves, believe it in their heart and they will see a change as the enemy is afraid of God and His word.

Happy Father’s Day

❤️ Shalom

A Grateful Heart

Last Saturday morning while in prayer, I felt the Holy Spirit lead me into a place of gratitude. In my prayer I didn’t ask for anything, but gave thanks for everything. Little did I know, in just a few days that gratitude in advance would come into fruition. As we wait for the winter storm to pass, my heart is in a continual state of gratefulness. I am thankful for a home, my family, food, water, electricity, health, and so much more. Gratefulness is something God has been nudging me about since starting my 365 days journey towards becoming the best version of myself. We can get physically fit, eat a healthy diet and make all the money in the world, but if our heart is not in right standing with God none of those exterior things will stand the test of times. Having a grateful heart allows a special covering of God’s blessings over our lives. When God looks at us, he is viewing our heart, not our physical bodies; therefore, I invite you to join me over the next 28 days to journal with me to identify all of the things you are grateful for.

In the meantime, Here are a few ways we can cultivate more gratitude in our daily lives showing God we appreciate every blessing we have:

  1. Start a Gratitude Journal: Over the next 28 days, I’m making a point to dedicate my mornings to gratefulness through prayer and journaling. We have so much to be thankful for and I believe it’s time to start making note of it. I believe when we take the time to give thanks, God will honor us with more to be thankful for.
  2. Say it out loud: Get into the habit of saying thank you. When I wake up in the morning I simply say thank you as a small prayer before my feet even hit the floor. The words that come out of our mouth are powerful. God gave us power through our speech. Proverbs 18:21 reads “death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they will eat the fruit of it.” This scripture always convicts me and has me to watch carefully over the words that I speak. When we complain we will receive more things in life to complain about. When we give thanks it is a symbol of praise to God, and as our Father He wants to do more because His children are giving thanks. Over the next 28 days I encourage you dear friends to watch over the words you speak, and fill them up with words of gratitude and praise.
  3. Grateful to others: We can genuinely show gratitude to others when we are first showing gratefulness to God. If we are lacking in this area we will find it hard to give thanks to others genuinely. If we are not thankful for the little things God does for us, it will not come naturally to thank the people in our lives when they do little things for us. When we learn to be grateful to God first this spills over into every area of our lives bringing an increase of joy to our most important relationships. Think of the people in your life today, and begin to practice gratitude in action first starting with thanking God.

To my friends and family who may be overcoming the winter storm right now, I am sending you prayers. I want to encourage you to know that this too shall pass. As we remain faithful and thankful to God He will restore everything we need and more. The secret key is a heart of gratitude. ❤

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Thank God in everything, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus”

❤ Shalom

Confidence is

Believing what God says about you over anything negative, whether from your own inner dialogue or from another being.

Here is a word from Joyce Meyer in the commentary and notes section of The Everyday Life Bible:

“Always believe what God says about you above your own feelings about yourself and above what others have to say. God says you belong to Him. He loves you and will work through you if you will simply let Him. You are special to God. You have infinite worth and value. Perhaps the world would not consider you usable material for God, but He sees differently than the world does. Say, “Here I am God, use me, ” and watch Him go to work!” Joyce was referring to the story of David in 1 Samuel 17.

How many times have you stopped moving on something due to the lack of someone else’s faith in you? I want to encourage you dear friends to keep going as you keep your confidence and faith in the Lord. When God calls us to do something for Him, we must believe that He has already equipped us for the task.

Can I pray with you today?

Dear Lord, we come to you thanking you for all that you are and for breathing your very breath into our nostrils. Father, we open our hands to do the work that you have designed us to do. Remind us to keep our confidence in you and not in man. When there isn’t anyone to encourage us, teach us to encourage ourselves in you recounting victories you have given us in the past. We choose today to place our trust and faith in you and we declare victory today. In Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

I hope this mini Sunday word blessed you today Dear Friends!

❤ Shalom

How to Heal after a Breakup💔

Hi friends, thank you for entrusting me with your heart during this time. I want you to know this pain won’t last forever and you will overcome. I invite you over virtually through this blog post. Take off your shoes, grab a warm throw blanket from the sofa and just relax. I have a pot of tea on for you along with homemade chicken rice soup. I want to share with you what I learned from the Holy Spirit and just exactly how to get through. Now that the tea kettle has chimed, I will come over and sit with you to talk things through. Now let’s get you on the track to healing, overcoming, and thriving.

  1. The Sweetest Therapy: Did you know that the Holy Spirit is our counselor and comforter? The Bible reads in John 14:26-27 “But the counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give to you as the world gives. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” Our Father knows exactly how to heal us and we can find that in calling unto the Holy Spirit for guidance and answers to problems in which we do not understand. I am blessed to also have a spiritual mentor whom I can talk things through from a Godly perspective. I believe it’s so important that we have people in our lives that can speak the word over us during troubled times. Therapy is a great way to overcome life’s challenges, especially when it’s based on the word of God. Friend, know that through Jesus Christ you have access to the greatest counselor of all time and that is the Holy Spirit. Once you come into a relationship with Christ and join in prayer with the Holy Spirit, there isn’t anything you cannot overcome.
  2. Find Peace by asking yourself this question: What did I learn and how did I grow? My spiritual mentor once shared this question with me (“what did you learn and how did you grow”)? This question shifted my outlook to a more positive perspective. Many times when we leave a relationship, we think about what was lost. In actuality we were growing and transforming the entire time. I encourage you to write this question in your journal and focus on only what you learned and how you grew. Answering this question shifts you to having a growth-mindset rather than carrying forth as a victim. You were made to overcome, and with this mindset you are moving yourself into an empowered position. Friends, I have a feeling that pretty soon you won’t need the tissue box any longer. I feel your strength shinning through already.
  3. Understanding God’s Will: To understand God’s will for our lives, we must first understand what His word says. In Jeremiah 29:11 God tells us “For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord,” plans to prosper (bless, bring what is good, succeed) you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God’s plans for us are good, yet it does not mean that everything will be perfect or that we won’t face trials, but what is from God will be good. As you begin to study God’s word and seek His presence in all areas of your life, He will bring peace that surpasses all understanding. You will learn to be led by God and begin to receive His best, even when it comes to relationships.
  4. Understanding the Season You’re in: The word tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:1 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” My prayer dear friends is that this word will bring comfort to you in your current season. Once you understand God’s will for your life, you will also know that there is an ordained time already written by God for the desires of your heart to come to pass. My encouragement is that you do not look at what everyone else is doing and keep your focus on the path that God has laid out for you. I know It may be tempting to catch up with your friends that may already be happily married with children; however, instead of focusing on where they are in their season, send them blessings and love while you place your focus back on your season. To be Transparent, I am in a season of working in my field (as Ruth did in the Bible, I will explain in the next paragraph). In my current season, as much as I would love to get married, I know that God is calling me into my purpose. While in my purpose, I trust that God will fulfill His promises to me in His perfect timing. I encourage you to seek God about your current season. Is there something you should be working on? Is there an area you can focus on developing in? Can you spend more time with family in this season? Is there a hobby you have been wanting to partake in? Do you want to learn a new language or go back to school? If God were to bring your spouse into your life six months from now, would you be ready or still moping around?
  5. Understanding Your Purpose: Purpose provides meaning, motivation, and an overall sense of direction in life. If you have yet to discover your purpose, I encourage you to seek God for it. In the meantime, keep it simple. My general life purpose in which will also be my future household’s purpose is simply: Mathew 6:33 “But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” I can already imagine my Future Husband and our children moving through life with a common goal and purpose, simply seeking Jesus all the days of our lives while setting a new family dynamic for the generations to come. In the meantime of having my own family, God has me on a mission for Him and that is my purpose. I started writing at eight years old as it came to me naturally. As I became a teenager and then a young adult, I did what I wanted to do with my life, but God kept nudging me until finally I began to write again. The only difference is that my writing is now for the Kingdom of God. When we look at the story of Ruth in the Bible, after Ruth’s husband and father-in-law passed away, Ruth had a choice to leave her mother-in-law Naomi behind and live her own life selfishly or she could stay with her mother-in-law. In this case, Ruth chose commitment over comfort, she would not leave Naomi by stating in Ruth 1:16urge me to not leave you or to turn back from following you; for where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people and your God my God.” In choosing this path to be selfless, Ruth stepped right into her field and that is where Boaz found her working in his field. Ruth was in her purpose and found favor with the Lord and with Boaz. In this story, Ruth ends up married to Boaz. Can you imagine if she would have been selfish and followed her own way? Naomi would have suffered alone and Ruth would have never met and married Boaz. Do you see why understanding (the will of God, your season, and your purpose) is important? Our purpose is not just for us, it brings glory to God and blesses others. In turn we reap a harvest of blessing that we could never achieve on our own. Dear Friends, if you are hurting in this season I encourage you to read the story of Ruth and seek God on your purpose. In the beginning, Ruth lost a lot, but this did not stop her from extending kindness to Naomi and it did not stop her from walking into her purpose and reaping a harvest of blessing. You never know who is watching. God was looking out for Ruth, and Ruth looked out for Naomi. In return, Ruth found favor with Boaz and her latter days were extremely blessed.
  6. Make Time for Self-Care: I encourage you to get moving just as Ruth did. Ruth did not wait for things to become perfect. She kept a heart of kindness which blossomed into her outer beauty having her stand out in the field. During this time as you heal, find some time to be kind to yourself. Here are some self-care activities to help you incorporate self-love as you heal and become whole again:
  • Journal throughout your healing process
  • Make time for Prayer (Release it all over to God and thank Him in advance for your healing)
  • Redesign your living space to cultivate more Peace
  • Throw away old things that bring about painful memories
  • Buy yourself some flowers to brighten up your place
  • Take a class or participate in something that has been on your list forever
  • Call or go visit someone in your family whose heart you can make smile
  • Give yourself a spa day at home
  • Eat nutritious meals (junk food will only make you feel worse later)
  • Make a list on the things you love about yourself and thank God for these attributes/characteristics/traits
  • Get out in nature (take a walk with a friend that uplifts you or a family member)
  • Find a way to give back within your community

Transforming into Peace

Recently I decided to cultivate more peace into my life and become an overall peaceful being. In our world today it’s easy to develop anxiety, but we have the power to choose peace. As you know, I am currently on a year long transformation journey and promised to bring you along with me. Here we are today taking another step towards peace. Jesus promised us in the Bible that we have peace in Him. I decided to deepen my relationship with Jesus this year and take my soul to another level of greater peace.

Here is everything I am incorporating this year to have more peace and grow closer to Jesus:

  1. Purifying What I Consume. Just as we feed and nourish our bodies, our spirit is fed daily by what we hear, read and watch. Every time we consume a podcast, television show, the news, movies, or a conversation our spirit is fed through these things (positive or negative). To incorporate changes in what I consume here is what I have done so far: I switched from Netflix to PureFlix, which shows more wholesome movies. I cleaned my YouTube subscriptions and started following more faith based content. I cleaned my Spotify from anything that didn’t lead to peace or back to Jesus and created new playlist that uplifts my spirit (peaceful instrumentals, soaking worship music, praise music, and any artist that uplift). Meditate on Philippians 4:8-9
  2. Nourish Through Prayer And The Word. There is an answer for everything we face in the Bible. When we face things alone and go without answers, anxiety develops. Be at peace friend, and know that the answer you seek is in your sacred place with Jesus and in His word. Through time with Jesus He will turn your anxious feelings into peace. Nourishing on the word of God is the best thing we can do daily for our inner being. In Matthew 4:4, “Jesus answered, “it is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'” This tells us that we need the word in our daily lives just as we need food and water for our physical bodies. Lately, I have made time in the mornings before my activities to nourish on the word. I meet Jesus in the mornings with my bible, journal, highlighter, and pen ready to fill up through prayer and His word. If you have no idea where to begin, you can start with a devotional journal that leads you in the word or an amplified study bible. I read Joyce Meyer’s Everyday Living Bible and I love it!
  3. Distance from Toxic People and Places: In order to heal and have true peace we must distance ourselves from anyone and anything that is toxic. It doesn’t mean we don’t love certain people when we distance ourselves, it just means that we are loving ourselves enough to heal. In this space we can find true peace as we heal through letting go of anything toxic. In this season, I am placing my attention on purifiying and developing true inner peace. As whatever we hold onto from within will reflect in our lives. Let anything toxic go and experience the perfect peace that our Lord Jesus has promised through a relationship with Him.
  4. Cultivating Peace Through Nature. There aren’t many places near my current home that has much nature. Therefore, I’m learning to garden and bring more oxygen into my home through live plants. Nature tends to always quiet my soul and bring about a supernatural refreshing that only God can provide through His very breath onto the earth. I plan to spend more time in nature this year and on the days that I’m unable to do so, I’ll have my little oasis in my home through my indoor and patio garden that I will create this year.
  5. Cultivating Peace in my Home. The more time that I spend with Jesus in my home, the more light, love, and peace I get to cultivate in my space. When family and friends visit, my hope is that they receive a huge hug from God the minute they enter through my door. On this journey I will dedicate my home to God, as a place of cleanliness, organization, prayer, worship, laughter, love, and peace. 1 Samuel 25 ESV “And thus you shall greet him: ‘Peace be to you, and peace be to your house, and peace be to all that you have.”
  6. Cooking and Dining with Peace. My mom would always tell me that each meal she cooked was made with love. In this season, I will not rush when I cook or eat. I will savor the time I spend cooking a meal and enjoy every bite surrounded by peaceful sounds and smells. Peace will go into my cooking and it will be felt by the tummies that enjoy it! We should never cook or eat when we are angry or sad because we only ingest more of that emotion. Let’s ingest more love and peace through our meals.
  7. Becoming a Peacemaker. Cultivating peace in our everyday lives is a journey as we must first become peace itself on the inside. I believe truly embracing the Sabbath day which God called us to rest on can help us become more peaceful beings. When we take time to rest, we are less likely to have moments where we may lose our cool. Hebrews 4:9 “So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.” Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
  8. Renewing Your Mind for Peace. In renewing our mind we can go in any direction we place our focus. I am choosing to have a mind of peace. Here are scriptures to meditate on as we renew our minds for peace: – John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” I believe that God is telling us in this scripture that we too can overcome the things of this world. We can have peace by abiding in His presence and in His word. – Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” This scripture ensures us that we will have perfect peace if we keep our minds on the Lord and trust in Him. Trust Him in all things. – Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” When we are anxious, we are far away from peace. The best way to come back into a place of peace is by giving everything that concerns us over to God through prayer. Leave it there in His hands and trust that He is working it all out for your good. God is good and His plans for us are good. Trust Him and peace will follow. – Hebrews 12:14 “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.” As I strive to work for God here on earth I will do my best to show God’s love through how I treat and speak to others. I believe when we allow God to flow through us to love others and treat others well, God smiles on us, saying “well done servant.” We are here to serve God and others. I hope to continually make God proud.

I want to say thank you to those who are supporting my blog posts. I’m tremendously grateful for your support. I pray that God blesses you with perfect peace and an abundance of love.
